A Quality Course

DRM Instructor Training College Fabia car on the road

Why sit a part of the exam more than once? If you train using the best quality course that is available, you are more likely to be successful at your first attempt.

DRM's programme of research and continual update of their course ensures that it stays ahead of the many changes taking place in the industry. Your will be supplied with the latest version of the course.

The DRM course has been written by Alan Hamilton, a Grade 6 Driving Instructor, the highest grade awarded by the DSA. He is also an examiner for the Diamond Advanced Driving Test, holds advanced certificates from ROSPA, IAM, and has passed the DSA Cardington special driving test.

All the DRM tutors, who deliver the DRM course have been specially trained to deliver it. They have adult education qualifications, hold advanced driving qualifications and are allowed to train under the ORDIT register rules for trainers, having met the standard required to achieve this.

The Benefits of Training with DRM

DRM Training Centre

DRM have been successfully training people to become driving instructors for over 15 years. We are a driving school with local offices in Central Scotland as well as an Instructor Training College in Glasgow so our tutors and our staff have first hand experience of what they are training you to do.

We also provide training in the business side of being an instructor, so that you can maximise your income and keep your costs low.

This training covers customer care to help you look after your pupils and the use of the DRM Learner Driver Training Formula.

Speed of training

Because we are successful in generating a high demand from people wishing to learn to drive the DRM way, it is in our interest that you complete your training successfully and as quickly as possible. So, whatever course you chose, we will do everything we can to help you through it.

Training organisations that are not also a driving school, often don't have this urgency nor the flexibility that DRM has. So training there can take a lot longer, particularly when you have to wait for trainers to become available to teach you.

Course Options

Driving Instructor Training in Scotland

DRM offer 3 main training options:

Training available in Glasgow:

  • The Fast Track Course is a full time intensive course, which could have you teaching pupils for money in about 16 weeks.
  • The Standard Course can be completed either full time or part time, to fit round work or other commitments. It will take from 4 to 9 months to complete depending on the time you have available to study.
  • The Pay as You Train course allows trainees to make small weekly payments towards the cost of the course; they are then supplied with modules of the course every time their payments reach £125 and when the previous module has been completed.
